New responsibilities for Manufacturers – AR service launched.
Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 which came into force on 16th July 2021, from this date Manufacturer’s will no longer be able to place their products on the market in the EU without having an EU based economic operator. EMC laboratory expansion plans
Already one of the largest electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and wireless testing laboratories in the United Kingdom (U.K.), the expansion plan that is underway for Basingstoke will increase the speed and efficiency of testing for UL Solutions customers.
Recently installed additional anecohoic chambers and testing equipment have opened more capabilities for pre-compliance testing in the early phases of design. They also provide additional combined testing capabilities for products and systems as they prepare for market with radio and EMC-wireless testing.
Upon completion of the full expansion, the Basingstoke laboratory will be the largest independent SAR (specific absorption rate) test facility in Europe.
Testing and certification services currently include:
- Wireless charging
- Radio frequency (RF) human exposure and evaluation
- EMC and radio
- Cellular module integration

EMC & CI 2024 Show has New Organising Team
2024 will see new organising team take the reins!
In order to shift to a more technical focus, the team has been expanded to include some new and old contacts from the world of EMC and Test Equipment.
Steve Hughes, of REO UK LTD has been added to the team and an experienced pair of hands from the EMC Journal days, Alan Warner will also be helping to manage stand bookings.
The show was a success last year’ said Alan, ‘but I know that with my experience of the EMC industry, I can help make EMC & CI 2024 even better’
